Husband and wife owners, Alex and Marialisa Zywotchenko, established Cyrus Contracting in 2009. Drawing on individual strong industry experience, together they created a design-build firm dedicated to keeping clients’ best interests at heart.
Alex began his training in construction as a child, learning carpentry skills from his father. His formal training began after graduating from Amherst College, as he worked his way from being a New York City Union carpenter to managing high-end residential and commercial projects for successful New York City general contracting corporations. Alex’s breadth of experience from all aspects of the industry – laborer to real estate salesman to project manager – affords him an unusual ability to guarantee every project a timely, cost-effective and successful outcome.
Marialisa served as an engineer with the U.S. Naval Construction Battalion. She assisted in the World Trade Center clean-up with the New York Naval Militia.
She holds two degrees from New York University in Construction and Real Estate Management. She worked for a number of New York City general contracting firms in numerous roles and previously owned and managed her own painting company.
Both Alex and Marialisa have a passion for fine craftsmanship and attention to detail that sets Cyrus apart from other contractors in the competitive market of New York City and the Hudson Valley.
