What to Expect When Renovating

What to Expect When Renovating

We are committed to making our collaboration seamless and successful, bringing your dream space to life. To ensure an efficient and enjoyable renovation process, we’ve created this guide to help you navigate each step with ease.
  • Expect that our Project Team will need daily access to your home. We will coordinate the easiest and best way to enter, exit and secure your home.
  • Expect that we will require parking spots, a place for a dumpster and/or a temporary toilet. We will coordinate this with you.
  • Expect that our team will be using a bathroom in your home unless a temporary toilet has been arranged.
  • Expect that there will be multiple workers and subcontractors in your home. Expect that work is sometimes loud, always messy and disruptive. We do our best to protect furniture and enclose the working area. We sweep and/or vacuum every day. There will, however, be dust. We advise that valuable furniture/belongings be removed from the working space.
  • Expect that Marialisa will utilize a group text chat to keep all parties informed of pertinent project updates. Please let us know who you would like to be included.
  • Expect that you will have cell phone numbers for Marialisa and Jenn, our Office Manager. We are here to address your questions and concerns but ask that you stick to normal working hours to contact us via cell phone (aside from an emergency, of course). We would appreciate if project changes, pertinent questions and/or concerns are asked of Project Management only. Please refrain from asking our laborers project related questions.
  • Expect that Marialisa will visit the site daily whenever workers are present. Marialisa is not on site throughout the entire workday.
  • Our working hours are 8:30 – 4:30 Monday through Friday. Saturday work may occur. We will approve through you prior.
  • Expect that there will be a significant amount of decision making throughout the design and construction process. If decision making is a struggle for you, please give us a heads-up so that we can pre-game particularly hectic days.
  • Expect that we will provide a rough schedule at the start of your project but please understand that real time schedule and weather changes are inevitable. We will indicate these changes to you as they are incurred.
  • Expect that you may have to receive some deliveries. We do our best to coordinate the date and time of deliveries while we are present, however, sometimes they will occur outside of our working hours.
  • Expect that changes may have a cost implication. A Change Order will be presented prior to the work being performed. A signature and payment are required for us to start the additional work.
  • We take photos before, during and after construction. We may use photos for marketing purposes. Photos used for marketing will not indicate your name and/or address. Please let us know if this is not acceptable.
  • Expect that invoices are sent at critical points throughout the project. These are outlined in your contract documents. Timely payments ensure a project that runs smoothly. Recognize that percentage completion may not always reflect what looks complete but indicates materials that must be in place prior to start.
